Education system

I.G.C.S.E Edexcel curriculum.

IGCSE offers a wider range of subjects and encourages high academic standards through a practical approach to teaching and learning. Assessment is not limited to conventional written papers and they consist of a variety of tests e.g. oral and listening tests. The assessment is aimed at a wide ability range of students, with an eight-point grading scale, from A+ to G, with A+ being the highest. There are five Subject Groups in IGCSE with several subjects to choose from, in each group:

  • Group 1: Languages (First Language
  • Group 2: Humanities and Social Sciences (Geography, English Literature, History, etc.)
  • Group 3: Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.)
  • Group 4: Mathematics (Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, etc.)

Skills to be developed

  • READING
  • WRITING
  • LISTENING

Purpose

  • To engage in conversations effectively
  • Draw the explicit and implicit analysis in all the four skills.
  • Be able to use the four skills as tools to individual enlightenment through acquiring knowledge and information.
  • Participation in personal and collective projects.
  • Be able to analyse and solve day to day challenges.

Holistic learning.

Education needs a holistic approach which would enable each learner to develop their individual capacities and talents at personally suitable time and pace, support learners’ growth and accomplishments, nurture their inquisitiveness, encourage a lasting questioning attitude to the world and foster individual and cultural sensitivity.

Time frame (ability visa vie syllabus coverage)

It is based on ability of a learner/student in syllabus coverage. The brighter the student, the shorter time frame can be taken for transition from class to class/level to level.
